John is a well known Market Data Industry expert with over 20 years experience. He is renowned for insightful commentary and a deep understanding of Market data systems and vendors.

John's experience includes a 6 year stint at Salomon Brothers, gaining responsibility for networks and dealing rooms across Europe and 6 years with Dow Jones Telerate where he undertook presales support and product management for the Trading Room Systems division. He then moved to the client enviroment with West LB, developing a range of systems utilizing market data including Real Time Market Risk management and Virtual Dealing Desk Systems linking multiple offices and functions.

John has been working as an independent consultant for the last 5 years working primarily with banks and brokers getting the best from their investment in market data systems and technology.

ED Ventura, CEO, Ventura Management Associates LLC

Ed Ventura is President and CEO of Ventura Management Associates LLC, a boutique advisory services company focused on the financial services sector, that he founded in 2001. Prior to VMA, Mr. Ventura was the Senior Product Manager of Asset Data Services for SEI, where he led the strategy and sourcing for redistribution and consumption of pricing and reference data. While at SEI, Ventura revised the business strategy that provided the company with a competitive advantage in its data redistribution business, while improving the integrity of its data consumption business.

Mr. Ventura’s background also includes various roles in both the US and International private client businesses for Merrill Lynch. As Vice President of the Business Innovation Team, he oversaw the implementation of the Siebel CRM for the International branch office network. On the US side of the firm Ventura developed a client statement recognized as “best in class” by USA Today, Smart Money and Kiplinger’s.

Mr. Ventura’s experiences also include strategy development for the Merrill Lynch TGA program, where he was instrumental in moving the retail business from a commission based model to a fee-based model.

His expertise in data management has enabled him to serve on the Consumer Constituency Group of Financial Information Systems Division (FISD) of the Securities Information Industry Association (SIIA) as well as on the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Council in various working groups and committees. His views are often sought out at industry forums, on panels, and at trade shows. He has published articles in e.bill magazine and frequently is asked his perspectives by Inside Reference Data, among other publications.

Mr. Ventura received his BA and MPA degrees from C.W. Post College of Long Island University.
