Barry heads up Mercer’s Pan European Task Force building our intellectual capital, working with and collating feedback from our clients to understand their potential Pan-European needs and issues, liaising with Providers, understanding the regulatory issues, researching possible vehicles and considering possible roadmaps to implementation.
Before commencing his current role, Barry led the Mercer unit responsible for governance and operations, advising clients on aligning their pension sourcing options with their business objectives and also acted as the Chief Operating Officer for an investment bank’s Trustee and the Pensions Governance Officer for a large drinks’ company’s pension funds with assets in excess of £2bn.
In the past Barry has led major strategic exercises on the delivery of pension services and is a technical expert in the operation of DC plans. He is also a former Trustee of the Mercer pension plan.
Barry is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and holds a (Special Honours) BSc. in Mathematics from Sheffield University and the Trustee Certificate of essential pensions’ knowledge. He is an occasional author of points of view for some of the UK and European pension periodicals.

Calum leads Aon Consulting’s UK property research function, having previously worked for DTZ a leading global property company. Calum researches UK, European, Global and Asian property managers and products to ensure that Aon Consulting’s clients have access to a wide range of property investment solutions. In addition to property, Calum also leads Aon Consulting’s infrastructure team, writes Aon Consulting’s quarterly property market updates and is responsible for providing strategic investment advice to a range of pension schemes.

Nigel includes within his employee benefits career being MD of an IFA practice and then in recent years working in compliance. A combination of experiences that he feels equips him to understand the needs of the IFA both in product design as well as technical and service support.

Ian is an actuary with more than 20 years pensions industry experience. He is head of PwC's investment business, with a key focus on how companies and trustees can best manage the risks in their pension funds. Ian was previously head of Aon Consulting's investment practice, and has just completed a six months part time secondment as Chief Investment Officer of the Pension Protection Fund.
Malcolm McLean, OBEChief Executive

Malcolm has been Chief Executive of TPAS – The Pensions Advisory Service for the last 11 years. Prior to that, he was General Manager of the former Occupational Pensions Board. I'm just testing this text bla bla bla.
Malcolm is a regular speaker at pension conferences and often broadcasts on radio and television – especially Radio 4’s Moneybox Live and BBC2’s Working Lunch programmes.
During his time with TPAS Malcolm has received several industry awards, the most recent being the “Greatest Single Contribution to Occupational Pensions 1998 to 2007” at the UK Pensions Awards in April last year.

Henderson Global Investors
George is Head of Sustainable and Responsible Investment Funds at Henderson
Global Investors, responsible for a team of seven fund managers and research
analysts, managing over £1.1bn.
As SRI fund manager George oversees the pan-European SRI portfolios, he is
manager of the Henderson Global Care Managed Fund and the Henderson Global Care
Income Fund, along with the segregated SRI funds. With a BA (Hons) in Geography
from St. Catherine's College, Oxford, George was commissioned from Sandhurst
into the army. He served as an infantry officer in Germany, Bosnia, Canada and
Northern Ireland before leaving the army to join Threadneedle Asset Management
in 1996. George joined the Henderson SRI team in 2001. He is as Associate of the
Institute of Investment Management and Research and holds qualifications from
the UK Society of Investment Professionals.

Joanne graduated from Churchill College, Cambridge, in 1984, with a degree in Mathematics. She qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1988. Prior to joining Punter Southall & Co, she worked for two other firms of consulting actuaries and for a leading firm of accountants. She joined Punter Southall in September 2001 after spending a couple of years taking a part-time MBA course and tutoring students sitting the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' professional examinations. Joanne has particular experience of advising corporate clients on a variety of issues, including pension cost accounting and due diligence exercises for corporate acquisitions. During her career she has also advised a wide range of Trustee clients on the day-to-day running of their pension schemes; Joanne is a Scheme Actuary.

Martin is the Director of Finance and Risk, for the GSK UK Pension Schemes, and Secretary to the Trustee for the GSK Common Investment Fund. The UK pension schemes have combined assets of £7 billion and a total membership of 79,000. Martin is a UK Chartered Accountant and a member of the NAPF Investment Council. Martin is actively involved in a number of industry initiatives including the NAPF working group on the revision of IAS19 and the UKIPC.

Paul McGlone is a Principal at Aon Consulting, with 15 years' experience of advising employers and pension scheme trustees on scheme design and funding. His clients cover a range of industries, including airlines, national newspapers, top fashion names and casinos.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Paul is responsible for developing new products and services for the market, which means keeping on top of all of the current, and future, trends.

Tom is Head of Pensions Research for Hargreaves Lansdown, one of the UK’s leading investment intermediaries and financial advisers. Hargreaves Lansdown has developed its own Sipp and Group Sipp, based on the company’s Vantage fund supermarket and dealing platform.
Tom has over twenty years’ experience in the pensions industry. He has worked previously for Norwich Union, National Mutual and the regional IFA firm Torquil Clark, where he was responsible for setting up their direct pensions business.

Jonathan joined Mercer Limited as UK Business Leader, Outsourcing in November 2007 and is a member of the UK Executive team.
Jonathan moved to Mercer from RCI, the world’s largest holiday exchange and travel business, part of the hospitality group Wyndham Worldwide, where he was Group Managing Director for Europe. Previous to RCI Jonathan has enjoyed a career across a number of consumer and financial service sector businesses, including Citibank where he was Sales & Marketing Director for the UK Consumer Bank; Airtours where he was managing director for Distribution; and BUPA where he was Head of Member Services.
Jonathan has a BSc in Geography & Economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from London Business School.
