Pensions Personality of the Year
Adrian Waddingham has won the Pensions Personality of the Year award.
The award - presented at a gala dinner at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on 20th April - was decided by votes cast by attendees on the evening and by more than two thousand PP readers who took part in voting before the event.
Waddingham beat four other shortlisted nominees - Hewitt head of longevity and risk transfer solutions Martin Bird; Royal County of Berkshire pension fund manager Nick Greenwood; Lane Clark & Peacock investment partner Gavin Orpin; and Aviva Staff Pension Scheme trustee Chris Wagstaff.
Waddingham is a past chairman of both the Association of Consulting Actuaries and the International Association of Consulting Actuaries and is currently the Master of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries in the City of London.
He is also a former chairman of the West London branch of the National Association of Pension Funds and a past chairman of the Association of Pensioneer Trustees.
Waddingham graduated in 1971 with a BSc in Mathematics with Statistics from London University. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1975.
On 1 June 1989, he became a founding partner of Barnett Waddingham following the merger of Rodney Barnett & Company with Waddingham & Company. Adrian became senior partner of Barnett Waddingham in October 2005.
