Philippa Girling

Philippa Girling is Head of the Banking and Financial Services Group at Garrity, Graham, Murphy, Garofalo & Flinn P.C.

Prior to joining Garrity Graham, she was Global Co-Head of Operational Risk Management at Nomura Holdings America where she was responsible for the development of the global operational risk strategy to meet Basel II requirements and for the implementation of that strategy in the Americas and Europe.

Previously, she was a Founder and Program Director of the firm wide operational risk department at Morgan Stanley. Philippa also served as Chief Operations Officer of the Global Financial Control Group and Chief Administrative Officer of the Retail Brokerage Controllers Group at Morgan Stanley.

She has 13 years experience in the global securities industry, working in the fields of operational risk, change management and project management.

Philippa has also designed and led many training programs, including an Operational Risk Executive Education program for Columbia University, NYC. She is an attorney and is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Philippa emigrated from the UK to the US in 1996 and is currently based in NewYork.
