The Workshop
Against the back drop of the most turbulent market in over a decade, the demands on operational risk managers are ever increasing. It is becoming more imperative for operational risk managers to develop and implement effective operational risk programmes to add value to the business and comply with regulations (Basel II).
In addition, the most recent phase of the financial crisis has caused some to question whether Basel II will survive in its current form. Governments are insisting that banks hold higher capital levels then Basel II calculations require, while pressure is on the Basel committee to incorporate new guidelines. Hosted by Oprisk & Compliance magazine, this course has been researched extensively with local leading industry figures and has been tailored to closely accommodate the needs of the southeast Asian financial industry.
The workshop leader, Gary Chong will concentrate on how best to develop an operational risk culture within your organisation. He will look in detail at the issues with: data collection, self assessment and KRI’s. There will be special attention on the Basel II implementation requirements and how those effect operational risk.
This will be a chance for participants to question what they have just learnt and discover how to apply their knowledge to a business situation. This training course combines lectures and practical case studies, providing extremely interactive sessions. The final session of the course will look at the future and what different possibilities lie out there.
