The Gas Association of Singapore
The Gas Association of Singapore (GAS) is a national body that brings together practitioners, experts and professionals in the gas/gas related industry. Formed in December 2001, GAS provides members with a forum to exchange information and experiences in a cordial environment.
GAS offers members opportunities for discourse on gas-related matters such as exploration, production, separation, liquefaction, transmission, distribution, storage and utilization. It aims to enhance the sharing of knowledge, forging of friendship and cooperation as well as promoting uniformity in industry practice and standards amongst organizations and professionals in the gas industry.
The Association brings together like-minded professionals with a common aim to position Singapore as a key strategic partner in the regional gas industry. It aims to promote wider participation of individuals and corporations of the gas industry in Singapore at regional and international events.
The IPPF (Independent Power Producers Forum) is a non-profit industry support organization mandated by its members to work toward best practices in the Power Generation industry. Our geographic focus includes all developing nations across the Asia / Pacific region as well as the more developed economies of North East Asia.
We work toward a level playing field, transparency, rule of law and a better overall investment environment in Asia as related to the IPP industry.
The IPPF interacts with like-minded international bodies and institutions, supports and works with appropriate educational institutions and leading academics. The IPPF drives the development of industry guidelines, white papers, position statements and appropriate policy research. While our focus is on Asia, we maintain growing relationships with multi-laterals and industry decision-makers in North America and Europe.
REEEP is supporting efforts to promote energy efficiency particularly in countries with rapidly growing energy needs. REEEP together with regional agencies, the IEA, World Bank and UNIDO, is working to heighten the importance of energy efficiency as a driver of increased business competitiveness. REEEP together with REN21, has developed an information gateway called REEGLE www.reegle.info. REEGLE gives users the ability to access the most relevant global data sources on renewables and energy efficiency. The partnership also supports the clean energy project analysis tool www.retscreen.net which seeks to build the capacity of planners, decision-makers and industry to implement renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
REEEP is active in the international process. It has been recognised as a delivery mechanism by the G8, at the Gleneagles, St. Petersburg and Heiligendamm summits. REEEP does not want to duplicate effort and recognizes that many sustainable energy partnerships already exist, so it has international collaboration agreements with GVEP, GNESD, CLASP, ICLEI, EEP and MEDREP.
REEEP is supported by funding from the governments of Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as the European Union.
REEEP conducts regular programme funding cycles. REEEP focuses on projects which can be replicated and scaled-up and have a real impact on the development of the market for renewable energy, energy efficiency and innovation. The partnership also undertakes targeted interventions directly, in support of partner governments.
