Ben Alexander, Principal, ARDEA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

Ben co-founded Ardea Investment Management. Prior to forming Ardea Investment Managmenet, Ben was a managing director and Head of Fixed Interest at Credit Suisse's Asset Managment dicision where he was responsible for a team managing a portfolio greater than A$13bn.

Ben has been actively involved in the Australian inflation linked bond market since 1994.

Andrew Banbury, Director, Global Rates, Head of Inflation Trading and Structuring, Australia and New Zealand, DEUTSCHE BANK

Andrew is a director of the Global Markets Group and is responsible for structured trading for Deutsche Bank global markets Australia / New Zealand. His responsibilities include inflation, options, and correlation trading for the global rates group.

Andrew Barnet, Executive Director, Derivative Marketing, UBS

Andrew joined UBS in 2005 to work in the liability derivative business, and in 2008 moved into the inflation trading business.

Prior to UBS, Andrew spent 5 years at JPMorgan as an interest rate and FX derivative strucuturer and marketer.

He also spent 6 years working as a bond options trader at Macquarie Bank and HSBC and 2 years at Pacific Dunlop managing commodity, FX and interest rate risk.

Andrew Skinner, Executive Director, JP MORGAN

Stuart Dear, Portfolio Manager, ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGEMENT

Stuart joing Aberdeen in 2009 following the accquistion of Credit Suisse Asset Management (Australia) Limited. Stuart joined Credit Suisse Asset Managementin 1998, working initally within the equities team before rotating to fixed interest. He has extensive experience in fixed interest and currency trading, asnd from 2003 has been a portfolio maanager responisble for interest rate strategies and the management of a number of fixed interest, inflation linked and cash portfolios.

Joseph Hamilton, Head, Global Pensions Strategy Group, DEUTSCHE BANK

Joseph's responsibilities include structuring derivative solutions and providing bespoke advice to global pension schemes, reserve funds, asset managers, corporate sponsors, and their advisors. He joined the group in 2006 from Insight Investment, where he was an investment manager.

Tim Hext, Head of Balance Sheet and Funding, NEW SOUTH WALES TREASURY CORPORATION

Tim is Head of Balance Sheet and Funding for the New South Wales Treasury Corporation (TCorp). TCorp is the central borrowing authority for entities in the NSW public sector. It currently has a balance sheet of around A$50 billion. TCorps maintains a AAA rating and operates numerous borrowing programmes across money markets and bond markets in Australia and globally.

TCorp is Australia’s largest CPI Index Linked semi-government issuer, with outstandings of around A$3 billion. The large ongoing need for inflation linked funding means TCorp has worked closely with both investors and the banking market to develop the sector. Tim joined TCorp in 2007 with 18 years experience in financial markets in the banking and investment banking sectors.

Justin Tyler, Portfolio Manager-Fixed Income, ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGEMENT

Justin joined Aberdeen via the acquisition of certain Credit Suisse Asset Management businesses in April 2009. Previously, Justin was employed by RBC Capital Markets in debt capital markets and investment banking roles. Prior to this, he spent almost ten years at Colonial First State Global Asset Management as a portfolio manager with responsibility for inflation linked and liability matching portfolios.

Timothy Unger, Head of Strategic Research, WATSON WYATT

Tim is an Investment Consultant in Watson Wyatt’s Sydney office and is head of the Australian investment strategy team. He has responsibility for leading the investment strategy research carried out from Australia and for the asset and liability modelling and asset allocation advice provided to Watson Wyatt’s Australian clients.
Tim has worked with a range of institutional clients, including superannuation funds, insurance funds, endowments/ charities and public sector funds.
