Biographies

Armstrong Chen Sheng is the Senior Counsel of China Banking Regulatory Commission(CBRC). Mr. Chen Graduate from China Northwest University of Politics & Law, in the past years, he services in the People's Bank of China (the Central Bank of China)and CBRC for foreign bank supervision, inspection, legislation and legal consulting services. Mr. Chen is also the deputy director of Banking Law&Practice of Shanghai Law Society and an arbitrator of CIETAC and Shanghai Court of Financial Arbitration.

Simon Gray joined the DFSA in 2006 as Director, Supervision covering asset management, banking and insurance and his remit includes the supervision of Islamic Financial Institutions as well as conventional Firms offering Islamic Windows. Simon has spent much of his working life in the private sector with senior roles including Baring Asset Management, New Star Asset Management and most recently, as Head of Asset Management Compliance at Barclays Wealth. He has previously worked at IMRO, a predecessor organisation of the UK FSA and on the successful BCCI investigation for the Serious Fraud Office.

Simon is a Fellow of the Securities and Investments Institute, as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services.

Dr. Lee Shyan Yuan is a former Commissioner of Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), a financial regulatory authority established by the government in July 2004. The main task of Dr. Lee was to oversee and formulate policy for Taiwan’s fixed income market, derivative market, securitization market and fund industry. After he finished his 4-year term in FSC, Dr. Lee goes back National Taiwan University as a professor in the Department of Finance. Dr. Lee has a Ph.D. from Columbia University in the US.

Biographies

Angelina Choo is Director of Business Development for Standard & Poor's Index and Portfolio Services. Angeline, who is based in Singapore, is responsible for expanding S&P’s presence in Asia, including promotion of index-linked products and institutional benchmarking services for the full range of S&P equity and alternative asset class indices.

Prior to joining Standard & Poor's Index and Portfolio Services, Angeline was responsible for client services and sales for Standard & Poor’s based in Singapore, Her areas of sales experience ranges from credit ratings, equity research, risk management and investment & fundamental data. Before joining Standard & Poor’s in 2001, Angeline spent 5 years as a senior manager overseeing research and operations for Dun & Bradstreet. Angeline holds degrees in Bachelor of Social Science from National University of Singapore and an MBA.

Henry Pang joined BNP Paribas in 2000 to head up the equity derivatives sales department for Asia. Since joining the bank, his team has won key awards from renowned trade magazines including:

Biographies

Graham Bibby has more than 20 years experience in the investment management field specializing in Absolute Returns strategies. Since 1985 he has undertaken constant and extensive research into investment management techniques and what makes markets move. As a result of his findings he has developed a system of investment management that utilizes a combination of fundamentals, technical analysis and investor psychology producing absolute returns in all market conditions. He has managed portfolios for 12 years along with his research team and has attracted a lot of press interest with his Funds Optimization and Cash Management Services. Mr. Bibby was also the Chairman of the Technical Analysts’ Society of Hong Kong from 1996 to 1998 and is fully authorized by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission in the capacity as an Asset Manager and an Adviser in Securities.

He is an experienced public speaker, appearing regularly on CNBC
Squawk Box and Asia Market Wrap programs. CNN as well as BBC World regularly ask Graham to interpret key market events on various financial programs. He is also a regular speaker at Investment Forums, and has been keynote speaker in many Fund Management Conferences throughout Asia challenging the traditional Fund Management approach. He regularly writes for a number of the Asian financial press and publishes his own market commentaries, The Truth and Richmond Report.

Bruce Von Cannon is Chief Representative of Banque Privee Edmond de Rothschild based in Hong Kong. He has worked and resided in Asia for over 20 years and held marketing and management positions in banking and wealth management in New York, Geneva, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong. He holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from Princeton University, a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, an M.B.A. Degree from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University and is a past Princeton-in-Asia Foundation Fellow at the Mandarin Training Center at Nanyang University. His hobbies include golf, tennis, and alpine skiing.

Marcos Camhis is the Director of Business and Product Development at CMA. CMA was established in 1997 to assist institutions, high-net-worth individuals and family groups in the management of their financial assets. CMA specializes in the selection of both traditional and alternative investment managers. CMA manages approximately US$ 3.1 billion in institutional and private client assets.

In 2006, CMA became a subsidiary of EFG International, a global private banking group offering private banking and asset management services, headquartered in Zurich. Prior to Joining CMA in 1999, Marcos worked as a consultant in the Strategic Risk Management Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers in London prior to joining CMA.

Sébastien Dupuy joined SG Private Banking in 2004 as “ Advisor for Equities, Interest Rates and Funds” dedicated to the global SG Private Banking network. He was first market-focused: analysing the latest trends and working closely with major financial institutions to select the best offer in the market.
Since 2007 he is “Local Head of Structured Products Solutions Hong Kong”. He is thus rather client-focused, working side by side with customer relationship managers to imagine tailor-made investment solutions dedicated to international private clients of SG Private Banking Hong Kong. Sébastien Dupuy is the holder of a post-graduate degree in Banking & Finance (Master, 1999).

Jeslie Chui is a Senior Manager, Derivatives Division under Global Market Department in Bank of China (HK) Ltd. He is Responsible for planning and also marketing for derivatives and also structured products. Jeslie Chui is also a columnist of Hong Kong Economic Digest, SingTao Daily, Capital CEO, Recruit, financial portal: ETnet, aastocks, Yahoo finance, cnyes.com, infocastfn.com and Quamnet. Jeslie was once a Visiting Assistant Professor and Honorary Professor in HKU and Fudan University respectively. As well as Jeslie is a author of 14 books mainly in financial products such as warrant and also structured products. He will pursue his 4th Master degree in Chinese Business law under The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Terence Goh is the Global Head of Structured Solutions Group, Group Wealth Management. He is based in Singapore and is responsible for Structured Product Development, Structuring, Strategy and Execution. Concurrently he is the Regional Head of Private Bank Treasury responsible for the FX, Equities and Structured Products businesses for both the Private Bank and Consumer Bank in South East Asia. Terence joined Standard Chartered Bank in August 2006.

Prior to his appointment, Terence had 15 years of treasury markets experience and held various senior roles including Head of Investments & Structured Products in OCBC Bank and as a Senior Structurer with Citigroup’s Emerging Markets Sales and Trading in Singapore. Terence graduated from the National University of Singapore with a B.B.A. He is a chartereholder from the CFA Institute. He is married with two sons. Terence was born in 1969.

Rishi Kapur is a Managing Director at Swiss Re. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for leading the Origination efforts of Financial Markets Products within Asia. He joined Swiss Re in 2001 as part of the Market Risk Management function. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Rishi worked for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Reinsurance Group of America and Oak Hill Platinum Partners.

Jonathan Kornafel is the Director of Asian Operations for Hudson Capital Energy Group which serves as a market maker and strategic hedge provider in NYMEX, ICE and DME listed futures, swaps and options. Jonathan was previously a Senior Energy Derivatives trader at SMW Trading Company where he spent eight years structuring and managing multiple derivatives positions in the option pits of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Jonathan holds an MBA in International Finance from Fordham University in New York City and is also a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Honour Society in Economics. Jonathan appears weekly on CNBC TV and on Bloomberg TV as an oil expert. He appeared as a guest in a Boardroomradio.com feature, “The U.S. Economy and Energy Markets”. Jonathan is quoted weekly in Bloomberg and Reuters news articles referencing the oil market and hedging activities.

Bruno Lee is Head of Wealth Management, Personal Financial Services Hong Kong for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. He has overall responsibility for developing and implementing product strategies and propositions of all wealth management services, including investment and insurance, for HSBC in Hong Kong.

Bruno graduated in 1990 from the University of Calgary, Canada, where he majored in Economics. He joined HSBC in Hong Kong in the same year to work in personal banking. From 1991 to 2003, he worked for Fidelity Investments in Hong Kong, the USA and Taiwan, focusing on retail fund distribution and retirement business. He was Chief Executive Officer for INVESCO Taiwan Limited in 2004 and 2005 before taking up the current position with HSBC in April 2006.

Paul Lee is the Managing Director and Senior Investment Consultant of Structured Product of Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management Asia. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Paul worked in Barclays Capital for 8 years as senior equities derivatives trader. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree from the University of Hong Kong and an MBA degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Nicholas Leung a Chartered Financial Analyst, is the Head of the Investment Product Support Department of The Bank of East Asia, Limited (" the Bank"). Mr. Leung joined the Bank in 2004, assisting the strategic development of the wealth management business of the Bank, in particular in the areas of asset management and mutual fund distribution. In addition, Mr. Leung also actively participates in investment product related sales training and development programs of the Bank.

Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Leung spent eight years in Watson Wyatt (Hong Kong) Limited, where he left as an all–rounded investment consultant. His key responsibilities involve global asset allocation, benchmark construction, investment manager selection and research, custodian selection, MPF strategy and transition management related consulting services for institutional investors.

Timothy Lo is a highly regarded, seasoned banker who has devoted 20 years of his career to private banking. For over ten years, he has held prominent management positions in globally renowned financial institutions including BNP Paribas (Hong Kong), Wardley Limited / HSBC Private Bank (Sussie) SA and Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A.

In December 2003, Mr. Lo joined CIC Investor Services Limited (CICIS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the French bank, Credit Industriel et Commercial, as Managing Director. Since taking over at the helm of CICIS, Mr. Lo has been overseeing and substantially expanding its busines operations in Hong Kong. CICIS offers perssonalized and much-valued, tailored services on various investment products as well as securities lending to business owners and high net-worth individuals. Mr. Lo holds a Bachelor degree in Enonomics and Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg, Canada.

Yinqiu Lu is an economist in the Sovereign Asset and Liability Management Division in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department at the International Monetary Fund. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the City University of New York. She currently works on foreign reserve asset management, sovereign wealth funds analysis, and sovereign asset and liability management, and has published work on credit derivatives, and commodity hedging.

David Luk is a Director and Investment Counsellor of ING Asia Private Bank. Mr. Luk has accumulated over 20 years of market trading, investment advising and client service experience with major financial institutions. Prior to joining ING, Mr. Luk has been a senior Investment Advisor with BNP Paribas Private Bank and Account Manager with Citibank Private Bank, and before those, corporate dealer for foreign exchange and interest rate products. Mr. Luk holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hong Kong and a MBA degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. He is also a U.S. Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.

Peter McGuire is the Managing Director and founder of Commodity Warrants Australia (CWA) which is a structured product provider catering for the Australian and Asian retail investment markets. CWA offer a range of derivative products allowing investors access to global energy, precious metal, and soft commodity markets as well as several indices.

Peter holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (Exec MBA) from the University of Technology Sydney and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the prestigious Wharton School of Business and Finance, University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Peter is a commentator for some of the world’s leading media outlets, appearing regularly on CNBC TV, Bloomberg TV, Sky News and ABC Radio.

Benjamin Pedley has worked for institutions in Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore including Macquarie Bank,
Kleinwort Benson and was previously the investment strategist for LGT Bank in Liechtenstein (Singapore) Ltd. His areas of specialty are foreign exchange and commodities. His current role involves sourcing and creating investment vehicles, including structured products for clients. He regularly appears on CNBC, Bloomberg and BBC to talk about the current state and outlook for financial markets.

Anthony Siau is the General Manager and Head of Product and Strategy for RHB Investment Management (“RHBIM”), a wholly owned subsidiary of RHB Banking Group. Anthony is responsible for the overall corporate and product strategies of RHBIM, including strategy advisory, product management, market intelligence and business communications. Anthony has more than 10 years of experience, primarily in the mutual fund and asset management industries. Anthony holds a Master of Business Administration degree majoring in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree (Honors) majoring in Computer Information System, he also holds a Capital Markets and Services Representative’s License in Malaysia.

Thomas Murphy, Ph.D., J.D. , Principal, CRA INTERNATIONAL

Tom is a Principal at CRA International with over 20 years of experience providing valuation and risk management solutions to clients in energy, capital markets, private equity, manufacturing, chemicals, mining, transportation, and advanced materials industries. He has experience with the Big Four auditing firms Deliotte & Touche and Ernst & Young. Tom’s project specialization includes valuation of physical and financial assets, quantitative modeling, commodity trading, procurement, and issues related to bankruptcy, tax, and audit compliance.

Prior to pursuing graduate studies in finance and law, Tom was a chemical engineer with the DuPont Company where he held a series of assignments in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and research prior to graduate school. After completing his Ph.D. in Finance, Tom was an energy manager with Air Liquide America, where he managed risk through a portfolio of industrial gas pipelines, gas storage and power generation facilities, financial hedging, and trading. He held the rank of Associate Professor of Finance at Kansas State University where he taught advanced financial theory, options, futures, and other derivative securities to MBA and Ph.D. students. At KSU, Tom held a concurrent position with a venture capital group commercializing advanced technologies, and was president and CEO of two successful start-up companies in nanotechnology and biotechnology. He was Senior Manager of the quantitative services team in the Capital Markets practice of Deloitte & Touche in Houston, and Senior Manager in the valuation practice of Ernst & Young before joining the Real Options Group as Managing Director. Tom joined CRA International in 2007.

Tom holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Syracuse University (dissertation “Real Options, Spillover, and SWORD Securities: External Financing of R&D Projects”) and a J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law and an MBA. His undergraduate degree is a B.S. in chemical engineering (with distinction) from Clarkson University. Tom has lectured internationally on the subject of valuation, risk management, and real options, including at the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science, Energy & Power Risk Management, Financial Management Association, and American Finance Association. He is published in journals and book chapters including Energy Risk Management and Risk International.
